Launched in December 2022, Historia draws its design language from 1920s travel glamour — the same sophisticated world Agatha Christie moved through — filtered through a genuinely contemporary Art Deco sensibility, with perforated rattan screens and earthy, Egyptian-inspired interiors throughout.
At roughly 40 cabins carrying about 100 guests at full capacity, Historia is meaningfully smaller than the typical 140-180 passenger luxury cruiser — a deliberate choice that means the dining room never feels rushed and the crew learns names by day two, according to repeat travelers. The two Presidential Suites are each named after and themed around a specific figure in Egyptian cultural history: one honors singer Umm Kulthum, the other Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz.
Luxury Cabins run 22 square meters with oversized picture windows in a calm gray-and-stone palette; Historia Suites step up to 33 square meters. The two Royal Suites, at 46 square meters, are the only accommodations with a private balcony, adding a Jacuzzi bathtub and rainfall shower — genuinely worth the upgrade if the budget allows, by most accounts.
