Sharm, an hour or so south, is where the resorts are: Coral Sea Sensatori, Rixos Premium Seagate, Four Seasons. The closest thing on this site in spirit is Marsa Nakari on the mainland coast — also small, also diving-first, also unpolished by design.
Cheaper, calmer and considerably more characterful than Sharm, with mountains behind and shore diving in front. The trade is fewer facilities, a longer transfer from the airport, and a town that runs at its own speed.
